Christmas Card Photoshoot in Ireland

Christmas Card photoshoot

The family Christmas card photo is a huge part of the American Christmas experience. At Barbara McCarthy Photos, you can have a bespoke photoshoot anywhere in Ireland. Ireland is hugely popular with American tourists, who come to visit family and retrace their ancestral steps. Often you meet with family who live and work here, other times you vacation here, sometimes it’s a trip of a lifetime or a religious pilgrimage or your kids are graduating from University here.

Whatever you’re doing in Ireland, you’re creating lasting memories. So what better place to get your Christmas card photo taken than in Ireland? I certainly can’t think of any. You can have photos taken outside the Guinness factory, Trinity College, on Haypenny Bridge or looking over the famous Cliffs of Moher.

Maybe you want photos at Fall in St Stephen’s Green, on top of a mountain in Wicklow or along the beach in Wexford. If it’s raining- which it does- regularly, have your taken photos inside a famous building or studio, or in the home town of your Irish ancestors. Barbara McCarthy Photos can organise it all. Having grown up in Ireland and studied at Trinity College, Dublin, I know all the loveliest places to get your Christmas card photo taken. I cater to all groups - large and small, no matter how many family members there are.

So how does it work?

Firstly, you can contact me here and we can discuss your Christmas Card ideas like location and group size- I also do solo Christmas Card photos or extended groups. If you’re not sure, we can discuss your hobbies, interests or Irish family tree, if you have one. Subsequently, we’ll come up with a great place to shoot. We’ll also arrange a time and any logistics of getting there and how long you want to shoot for- People book for an hour, two hours. I can get a lot of images in that time so there will be extra ones too.

I’ll make sure you know the location and can help with directions or rides if needed. I always take a deposit once the date and location has been decided. I always decide for locations which defy bad weather. So if we pick an outdoor location and it’s raining, I’ll have an indoor alternative.

The next step to your Christmas Card Photoshoot in Ireland is the shoot. On the day, we’ll check for the weather and if it’s all clear, off we go. We’ll meet at the location and just have a really fun photoshoot. I’ll get profiles and traditional images until we get the final shoot.

Printing and dispatch

Once the shoot is over, I’ll get the images over to you within 48 hours, and you can pick the one you love the most and we’ll turn it into a card. I work with an amazing printer in Dublin so you can pick your paper style, print style and size.

We can also print the cards out with your message and send them onto you to sign. If you’re too busy to sign them, we also offer a service to send the cards out -as long as we have a database of names. Contact me for details of this service.

Sometimes, clients just want the image and that’s cool too. I generally send around 20 to40 edited photos (pending on the shoot) and you can look after the printing and card at home.

Either way, you’ll have lasting memories from Ireland.

I look forward to taking your Christmas Card Photos. Click the big photo above to contact me.

Thanks Barbara
